It was a thoroughly miserable drive down, a heavy leaden sky, the wipers flicking away the drizzle. Passing Basingstoke, I double checked in the mirror that I had slung that extra layer on the back seat. It was going to be needed. Yet there was a welcome reminder that summer wasn’t too far away.
