Brough Scott, and others, have bemoaned the lack of a ‘Christmas Festival’ in England, citing ‘the Irish have one, so why can’t we’? Well, we have the King George, that’s why.
That’s our festival at Christmas. It always has been and hopefully (Kempton surviving the bulldozers) will remain so. Britain has the Cheltenham Festival and the Grand National, at least allow the Irish to out-do us at Christmas...
