Just the one bet for me this weekend as I, like most punters, am waiting for next week.

POET MASTER jumped off the page at me in the 4.00 Listed Gladness Stakes despite having to concede weight to all of his rivals.

‘s charge strikes me as the sort of horse to catch early and he has won first time out 2 seasons on the bounce and also won after a 71 day break last Summer.

An improver as a four year old he was last seen finishing 5th to Ramatuelle in the Foret at in October but I think he might improve again this year and all of those top 7f races will surely be on his agenda.

Given he comes over here I suggest Karl Burke will have him ready to roll and although on paper he will have his hands full conceding weight to the O’Brien pair at the bottom I personally wouldn’t trust Camille Pisarro and Officer has only had the one run so might need the experience against such a rival such as the selection.

Anything 5/2 and above looks good to me.

4.00 – Poet Master
