Easyland set for get-right Cheltenham run

of Easyland say they are hoping for a big improvement on his season debut when he returns to cross county action at next week.

The six-year-old saw his seven-race winning sequence end in disappointing fashion at Cheltenham in November, trailing home fourth to Kingswell Theatre over the cross country course at Prestbury Park.

Despite the presence of dual- winner in the field that day, Easyland was sent off the -on favourite but failed to fire.

The French import will get a second bite at the cherry on , 11th December though when lining up for the Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase, a race he won last season.

Connections are confident of a much better performance from the potential Grand runner when he heads back to Cheltenham and hope his first outing of the season proves just an anomaly.

“The plan is hopefully for him to come to Cheltenham next week,” said manager Frank Berry.

“He was disappointing the last day. But it his was his first run, and they tell me he’s come out of the race well, so we’d be hoping for a better run the next day.”
