Connections call time on Enable

have called time on the career of superstar mare Enable with immediate effect, ending suggestions of a Champions Day run.

The six-year-old was last seen in the Qatar Prix de at on October 4 when finishing sixth.

Chasing a record third victory in Europe’s top middle-distance contest, Enable was well off the pace and came home six-and-a-quarter-lengths shy of winning Sottsass.

Enable had been tipped to return to action on Champions Day at this weekend, however, connections released a statement on to end speculation over any future runs.

Douglas Erskine Crum, CEO of , said: “After consulting her trainer and his manager Teddy Grimthorpe, Prince Khalid has decided that Enable will be retired from racing and will now join the Juddmonte broodmare band to be covered by Kingman in 2021.”
