Trainer Peter Maher says he is hoping to have both Ballyboker Bridge and Mtada Supreme racing at Cheltenham on Friday.
Ballyboker Bridge has shown some promising form lately and he managed to finish second in the Risk Of Thunder Chase at Punchestown, two-and-three-quarter lengths behind Cantlow.
The nine-year-old bay gelding's last win came at that same venue at the end of January this year when romping to victory in the P.P. Hogan Memorial Cross Country Chase.
Mtada Supreme has also been in decent form and he managed to record back-to-back victories at Clonmel and Punchestown before finishing fourth in the most recent run.
The pair are now being aimed at the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham on Friday and Maher gave his views on his two charges.
“I am hoping to bring over Ballyboker Bridge and Mtada Supreme to Cheltenham, providing the ground is not too quick,” he said. “Ballyboker Bridge was sixth on his first start last season, then finished third in this race before winning at Punchestown.
“After seeing how well he stayed on last time, I wanted to send him to Cheltenham, especially with the race being a handicap this time.
“Mtada Supreme wasn't fit enough when he ran at Cheltenham last year. He has bad wind and needs plenty of work, but his joints get sore easily. He has won around Tinahely, which is a big hill track much like Cheltenham, a few times in point-to-points and I know he stays.”
