Ribchester to renew Galileo rivalry

Trainer Richard Fahey has revealed Ribchester will have another crack at defeating at Deauville on Sunday.

Ribchester produced a cracking performance at back in April in the Qipco Stakes when finishing third behind 's star colt.

The three-year-old kept the momentum going for the latest outing at Glorious where he occupied the same position after succumbing to The Gurkha in the .

Galileo Gold was second on that occasion and Fahey has now revealed Ribchester, who picked up a win at in June, is being lined up for another encounter when the two will meet in the Prix Jacques le Marois.

“I'm very, very happy, couldn't really be any happier. I don't think much went wrong at Goodwood and we're looking forward to having another crack,” he told the Daily Telegraph.

“The track shouldn't make any difference. I think this is a proper Group One horse and hopefully he'll become that sooner, rather than later.”
