BHA investigate Kempton mistake

The BHA are to investigate 's final race at after eventual winner Isdaal began the race from the wrong stall.

The Kevin Morgan-trained horse was due to begin the race from stall 13 but was instead placed in stall eight for the Red On The App Store Handicap, with stablemate Haames starting the race in the wider berth.

The British Authority have now released a statement confirming their intention to look into the race and they confirmed that it is ultimately up to the jockey to make sure his mount enters the right stall.

The statement read: “We will be looking into the circumstances surrounding the 9.10 race at Kempton last night where two started from the incorrect stalls.

“The Rules provide that it is the ultimate responsibility of the jockeys to ensure they enter the correct stalls.”

The statement also revealed that the stewards at the meeting did not pick up on the incident although, even if they had done, they would have only been able to issue suspensions to relevant parties.

The statement continued: “The incident was not picked up by the stewards on the day. However, had the stewards been aware of the incident, their only course of action would be to determine whether the riders involved should be suspended or not.”
