European campaign for Acapulco

Wesley Ward is planning a European campaign for following the filly's stunning win in the Queen Mary Stakes.

Acapulco provided Ward with his second victory in the Group 2 race over five furlongs and she was equally impressive as Jealous Again had been six years ago.

was not forced to work hard on Acapulco as she scorched clear of the field to put behind her a disappointing third place on her debut at Churchill Downs last month.

Ward believes that turf is the key to the daughter of Scat Daddy and that is likely to see the Coolmore-owned horse continue to run in Europe this season.

The Prix Morny at Deauville, in which Ward's Hootenanny was second last year after winning at Royal , is one of the options under consideration.

The trainer plans to sit down with the Coolmore team to plot Acapulco's campaign after she provided Moore with another winner on the back of his opening day treble.

“She's very special, she really is,” Ward told UK.

“I'm going to look for a European campaign for her. In the States right now everything is starting to lean towards the dirt. This filly, as we know, she's going to relish the grass.

“I'm going to get together with Paul Shanahan and everyone at Coolmore and make a plan for her, and hopefully it will be right for her. Whether it will be the Morny or a race at various different tracks you have or different stakes, we'll make a plan.”
