Connections have decided not to run Beautiful Romance (above, centre blue) in Saturday’s Qipco 1000 Guineas Stakes, with Epsom now the target.
The three-year-old impressed when winning a Doncaster maiden on October 24 last year and did not look out of place when finishing third of eight in the Nell Gwyn at Newmarket on April 15.
The daughter of New Approach looked set for a return to headquarters at the weekend to try her luck on the Rowley Mile but trainer Saeed bin Suroor has revealed that Beautiful Romance is not quite right and will instead look towards the Epsom Oaks for her return.
“It is nothing major, but it has held her up enough to rule her out of racing this weekend,” he told www.godolphin.com. “But I am hopeful that she will be back on target for the Oaks and other big races this summer.”
