You won’t See The World at Cheltenham

See The World will miss the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the on .

The five-year old has been ruled out by trainer Emma Lavelle following a minor setback although she still retains high expectations for the horse for the future.

See The World, who impressed when winning at in January, was on offer generally around the 12/1 mark to win Wednesday's Bumper at The Festival but Lavelle has confirmed he will now not attend next week.

Lavelle said: “He had a scope last week after a piece of work and it showed a trace of mucus. It was only a small amount and we could have done something about it.

“Going to Cheltenham with such a young horse, you need everything to be 110 per cent. We have had discussions and we won't go to Cheltenham, but we will try to find another bumper before the end of the season before going hurdling next season.

“He is a very smart horse and, at the end of the day, very few come out of that bumper and go on. We want to have a top-class Hunt horse, not a top-class bumper horse.”

Bordini is the wide-ranging favourite at around 6/1 for the race, which is scheduled to go off at 5.15pm on Wednesday on day two of Cheltenham.
