All the talk leading up to the race was the return, after a lengthy absence, of Sprinter Sacre but it was ' charge that landed the spoils with a three-length triumph at the Berkshire venue.

It was the seven-year-old's second Grade One success of the season following victory in the at back on December 6.

And the Somerset handler believes the son of Dubawi has made great strides over the past few months.

“Obviously I'm very pleased, it's the second Grade One he's won,” told At The Races. “We knew he was in good shape and we were bullish about him last week, but he seems to be progressing very quickly.”

And the trainer believes that Dodging Bullets has benefitted from alterations to the way he has been looked after.

“Getting to improve means you need to find out what is stopping them,” he added. “We changed his routine, he's a fitter horse now and is probably at the peak of his powers.”
