Willie Mullins reported that Al Boum Photo is getting ready for the Cheltenham Gold, undergoing quite a training in hopes of bringing to itself another Cheltenham Festival Gold Cup. This will be its third win in succession at the festival, provided that everything goes well.
Mullin and the horse’s performance at the last Tramore race on NY Day, another third in a row win, claim and prove that he is in great shape, so Mullin is confident that a training streak will well prepare him for the Festival’s big race.
Showing a bit of surprise reminiscing the serendipitous purchase of Al Boum Photo, Mullin is pleased to announce that the horse is uncomplicated and easy to train. In spite of the confidence Al Boum Photo instilled in the team, Mullin expressed respect for Champ and A Plus Tard, pondering they have to be taken seriously at the Festival’s big race.
Delta Work is ruled out!
On the other hand, a steed that achieved numerous ‘Grade One Accolades’ has seen its performance going down, rendering the team to rule it out of WellChild GC. Being third in the last Irish GC during the Dublin Racing in Leopardstown, showing that he undertook a setback that should put him out of the races for this race and potentially the rest of the season.

Ronald Rump’s splint injury caused him to miss the Cheltenham Festival!
Ronald Rump missing out on the Festival will come as sad news to the fans and connections, and the break was caused by a minor splint injury that would set him back for just a few weeks, but enough for the Festival to fall in this period.
Matthew Smith, the trainer, stated for the public that Rump’s injury is not a serious one and won’t affect his already great shape he has shown during training and last season when coming to finish second at Fairyhouse in November and last season in the Stayer’s Hurdle, where he was around 12/1.
While missing the Cheltenham Festival this season, the management is hoping to see him ready and in great shape for the Punchestown Festival that is to be held in April.
Ground Conditions concerns for Roksana and Indefatigable
Facing the festival, Dan Skelton has stated he will make late calls for Roksana‘s place at the Cheltenham Festival. This is due to the weather conditions that dictate the state of the ground at the races. The dilemma lies between Close Brother’s Mares Hurdle happening Tuesday and the Paddy Power Stayer’s Hurdle being held on Thursday.
Roksana Won 2019’s Close Brother’s Mares Hurdle and Skelton is hoping to achieve the same, thinking of rendering Roksana to this race should the ground be soft or worse amidst the start of the Festival. A good to soft ground will be great for the second option.
As for Indefatigable, his management hopes for the dry well, keeping up with his last win, Handicap Hurdle at Martin Pipe Conditional. She is still in the excellent form Paul Webber claims, and he hopes to see her like that at the Festival this year.
