Trainer Jonjo O’Neill will not run Gold Cup hopeful Holywell at Cheltenham on Saturday as he wants to wait for better ground.
The eight-year-old had been entered into Grade 2 races, the Cup Chase and the Cleeve Hurdle respectively, but O’Neill has confirmed on Friday morning that Holywell will not travel.
“He wants good ground, it’s frustrating but what can you do? We’ll wait a bit longer,” he said.
O’Neill did not reveal his future plans for Holywell ahead of the Gold Cup which takes place at the Cheltenham Festival on March 13.
