Form Reading Vs The Statistical Approach (Part 4)

In previous weeks have briefly spoken about . This is an area that most punters ignore, but I can tell you now, you are wrong to do so.

By simply following a small amount of trends criteria and stats you can make good profits over a yearly period.

At www.nwracing.co.uk ‘trends' is one of many angles that we take interest of. There is no doubt that if following trends you need to be professional & patient as the win strike rate can be low. However those losing runs can be cut down by backing the bigger priced trends selections ‘Each Way'.

Now that 2014 has finished we at NWRacing have been looking closely at our own trends results. Below is a small breakdown of results & data analysis.

Total Selections 311

Winners 60

Win Strike Rate 19%

Profit +232.88pts

ROI (Return On Investment) 37%

As you can see from the above stats the win strike rate is fairly low at 19%. That works out roughly at a winner every five selections, or of course 19 winners from every 100 selections. So patience & professionalism is needed.

Indeed from 1st Jan to 30th Nov the profit was near the 47pts mark. This gave us a ROI at that time of 9%. This is still very good and more than useful as a profit ‘tool'. But in December our patience & professionalism paid off as we hit a number of big priced winners.

These included…

Petit Ecuyer @ 50.0 BSP

Waltz Darling @ 16.49 BSP

Lackaday @ 15.0 BSP

Pancake Day @ 13.61 BSP

Robinsson @ 9.0 BSP

Al Alfa @ 8.4 BSP

Plus many more winners at shorter prices.

Let's face it, most paid tipster services don't make that sort of profit during a year!

Over 232pts, simply staking at just a ‘fiver' would have gained you £1'160. I'm guessing that would have paid for Christmas or would have at least put a big dent in it?

To make sports investing pay you need THREE criteria.

1)      A reliable tipster/strategy or angle.

2)      Professionalism

3)      Patience.

Have you got those three criteria?
