She stayed on strongly in the closing stages and should be even better now upped in trip to three miles.
The Donald McCain yard burst back into life at the weekend ,combining with stable jockey Jason Maguire for a treble at Kelso on Sunday and Moss Cloud (13.50) can continue the stable's renaissance in the Novices' Handicap Chase over the minimum trip. The 7-y-o is a typical horse of his owner Trevor Hemmings, likely to come into his element over fences and upped in trip and it would be of no surprise to see the well-bred son of Cloudings eventually upped in trip to three miles. The selection has an excellent record fresh, third in a bumper two seasons back, a winner on his first start last term at Newcastle, and likely to give another strong account once more.
Maguire can double-up with Kim Bailey's Mor Brook (3.20) in the closing bumper. The selection is a dual winning pointer and looks the typical improver for the yard, which boasts an excellent 22% strike-rate when teaming up with Jason Maguire over the past twelve months.
David Pipe has a couple of smart ones running at Uttoxeter however stable jockey Tom Scudamore is interestingly enough Fontwell-bound with Bidourney (12.40) the pick of his rides in the opening Juvenile Hurdle. The selection won a newcomer's race in France before arriving at Pond House and built on that success when showing a game attitude to win on debut for the yard at Ffos Las. The selection looks ideal type to improve over timber and will take all the beating in the opening Juvenile Hurdle.
Pipe and Scudamore can double up with Molo (1.40) in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle. The well-bred daughter of Kalanisi carries a penalty for her impressive success last month at Newcastle, making a winning debut over timber under Conor O'Farrell. She looks to be going in the right direction and can give weight and a beating to Philip Hobbs' mare Meetmeatthemoon.
The evergreen Fruity O'Rooney heads the weights for the feature handicap chase seeking a sixth course success however Oliver Sherwood's Global Power (2.10) should take all the beating under regular partner Leighton Aspell. The selection made a pleasing return when chasing home Ballyoliver in a competitive handicap at Carlisle and can go one better from an unrevised mark.
The Tom George stable remain in excellent form and Moss on the Mill (1.10) should be able to carry on the yard's good time of things in the novices' handicap chase over two and three quarter miles. The 6-y-o is having just his second start over fences after finishing third behind the well-backed pair of Tara Road and Dan's Wee Man (front two in the market) last time out at Ffos Las and is entitled to progress. The selection was having his first start of the season and may have just needed to run; entitled to improve with Paddy Brennan replacing Rhys Flint in the plate.
