Art Power heading for York
Art Power looks set for a trip to York for the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes next month, according to racing manager Alastair Donald.
The three-year-old’s stock has been on a steady rise since coming home third on his debut at Newcastle in September 2019.
He has won each of his last four outings, including the Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap at Royal Ascot last month, and most recently landed the Group 3 Lacken Stakes at Naas.
Connections feel Art Power is ready to step up in class and they have set their sights on next month’s Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes.
“We’re most likely aiming for the Nunthorpe,” said Donald, racing manager to King Power Racing.
“There’s an outside chance he could run at Goodwood if it happened to rain but there are a lot of nice targets in the autumn so we’re going to try to keep him fresh for the likes of the Nunthorpe, Flying Five, Haydock Sprint Cup and Abbaye.
“There’s a very good programme for him in September and October, when we know he’ll get his ground.”
