Placepot Pete: Betting Tales from Leopardstown

What we do, ‘Robbo’ my Placepot partner and I, is pick a main meeting on ITV on Saturdays because he doesn’t have Sky or a computer for our Tote account, so I text him the ‘numbers’ - how many selections I think are needed per race - and he chooses the actual horses on the blustery beach in Dymchurch.
We normally lay out five or six quid each on the main bet and I spend two or three extra pounds on a secondary meeting, usually one covered by Sky, jumps or all-weather.
