LIAM BREAKS THE 1,000 BARRIER

Liam Keniry added his name to those jockeys who have ridden 1,000 winners when he dead-heated for first place in a two-runner handicap for three-year-olds at Wolverhampton on February 1st. An injury in 2021 prevented Keniry from reaching the milestone sooner and it was perhaps fitting that the other jockey in the Wolverhampton race was Joe Fanning, who of the current jockeys, has ridden the most number of winners. The 1001st win for Keniry came on his next ride the following day at Kempton.
