Trainer Paul Nicholls has his sights on the Many Clouds Chase at Aintree as a potential next target for stable star Frodon.
The eight-year-old returned to winning ways last month, with Bryony Frost on board once again as Frodon won the Matchbook Betting Exchange Handicap Chase ahead of West Approach and Cloth Cap.
The 2019 Ryanair Chase winner is being primed for the Gold Cup at Cheltenham this season, but Nicholls is having to consider his schedule carefully.
Aintree’s Grade Two contest on December 5 is currently on his agenda, but the handler has yet to speak to owner Paul Vogt.
He told reporters: “I want to discuss things with Paul, but there is a possibility of going for the Many Clouds at Aintree next.
“He has come out of Cheltenham very well, and he seems good at home. He recovered very quickly from that race.
“He has gone up another 5lb for that win at Cheltenham, so handicaps are now out of the question.
“He is off a rating that should make him competitive back in Graded races.”
