I’m back after a week away and I think I’m
just about ready to welcome the start of the jumps season now. The final
quarter of the flat season is yet to play out but my head has been turned by
the prospect of the jumps.
My
tip today comes from Newton Abbot and is in the shape of SUNRISE RUBY. Nicky Henderson doesn’t waste his entries through the
summer and Nico De Boinville wouldn’t get out of bed to go for one ride at
Newton Abbot unless he was pretty confident of a bold show. Consequently she is
a short price but still a shade of odds against as we speak and I think that is
fair enough. Her form stacks up well despite not being able to get her head in
front since her debut run and her experience could prove vital. It could be a
straight match between her and Sovereign Duke, who looked set to win last time
out when falling, and you never quite know the effect a fall can have so I will
happily lay him. My selection receives the weight allowance too and everything
looks set for a big run.
