Trainer Brian Ellison believes Ahorsewithnoname will be a “real player” in Newcastle‘s Northumberland Plate consolation race.
Like most sports across the world, Horse Racing is currently suspended until further notice because of the coronavirus pandemic, although there is the hope racing action could resume at some point in May.
Ellison has a large stable to deal with while racing is on hold and he revealed that the workload on his two-year-olds, which include the likes of Jigs Princess and Tantastic, has been eased in recent weeks.
Looking at the older horses at his yard, the Malton handler provided a positive outlook on five-year-old Ahorsewithnoname, who racked up her third win in the last four starts at Thirsk last time out.
Eyeing up potential options for the filly when racing resumes, Ellison believes the consolation race for the Northumberland Plate, which is run at Newcastle in either late June or early July, would be a good fit.
He was quoted by Sportinglife as saying: “I think she’s a very smart mare and she could be a real player in the Northumberland Plate consolation race at Newcastle.”
