Declan McDonagh has confirmed he will again partner Burnt Sugar in Saturday’s Challenge Cup at Ascot.
The pair were successful in the Sovereign Path Handicap at Leopardstown and trainer Roger Fell has again got the Irishman on board.
Having won by two lengths on that occasion, a performance that came on the back of a second place at Goodwood, Fell says he is keen to see them in action again.
“He’s going to go down to Ascot and Declan will ride him again,” he said. “I still think his handicap mark is fair as he’s in such good form.
“We’ve also got him in the Balmoral on Champions Day and if he can win one of those we’ll be all right.
“I used to own Smarty Socks and he won the big seven-furlong race at Ascot in September and was then second in this one. I’d settle for that again!”
