Atty Persse could run in September’s St Leger Stakes at Doncaster following his impressive victory at Royal Ascot last month.
The Godolphin-owned Frankel colt emerged victorious in the King George V Stakes during the Royal meeting and he has now won on three of his four competitive starts.
Trainer Roger Charlton has certainly been pleased with the three-year-old’s development and he admits it would be nice to run him in the St Leger, although next on the agenda for the horse is Thursday‘s Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket.
Asked whether a tilt at the St Leger is under consideration, the trainer told At The Races: “It’s always nice to think one might have a runner in a Classic, but it’s a long way off.
“Thursday is the Bahrain Trophy and the next step in the right direction, I hope.”
Atty Persse is many people’s tip to win Thursday’s Group Three race, although he is expected to be severely tested by the likes of Raheen House and Secret Advisor.
