Gavin Cromwell has suggested Jer’s Girl’s next outing will come at Cheltenham following her recent rest.
The five-year-old’s last appearance came at Leopardstown in December and after a sluggish performance, the Navan handler decided to give her some time off to recharge her batteries.
Before that she had finished second to Nichols Canyon at Punchestown in November, having won on her final two outings last season.
Cromwell has highlighted the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle as her goal for the Festival, where she is likely to go up against the likes of Gordon Elliot’s Apple’s Jade and the Willie Mullins trained duo of Vroum Vroum Mag and Limini.
Her trainer admits he has been pleased with what he has seen from his charge and has hinted that her next outing will come in March at Prestbury Park.
“She’s great and she’ll probably go straight to Cheltenham,” he said. “She had a couple of weeks off after Christmas. She’s back cantering and is in great nick.”
