Ivanovich Gorbatov looks set to get an outing before the Christmas festivities, according to handler Joseph O’Brien.
The Triumph Hurdle winner found Apple’s Jade too good at both Aintree and Punchestown in his two most recent starts but is believed to have summered well and is now ready for action.
With the four-year-old set to get a run before Christmas, O’Brien is looking forward to seeing his charge back in action before the New Year.
“He had a good break over the summer and is on his way back,” he told www.attheraces.com.
“I’ll be looking to get him back to the track at this side of Christmas and he’ll run in all the top races.
“Like any good juvenile hurdler coming into open company, he probably has a stone or more to find on the best hurdlers, but we’ll give him his chance to do it.”
