Eagle Top will head to France at the weekend for a tilt at the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud “ground permitting”, connections say.
The John Gosden-trained five-year-old came in a disappointing fourth at Newbury last time out, having been the odds-on pre-race favourite.
Soft Ground saw Eagle Top miss the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot and next on the agenda is the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.
“Eagle Top is going to run in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, ground permitting,” said Hugo Lascelles, racing manager to owner Lady Bamford, as reported by Sky Sports.
“That’s what we are aiming for and after that we will just take it one step at a time with him.”
