Exeter, the first leg of the Westcountry Weekend was heaving, the crowd was just under 3,000 and the bookmakers had turned up in their droves as you’d imagine they would for the racecourse’s flagship day. The opening Betway Novices’ Hurdle featured a hotpot in Paul Nicholls’ Wrappedupinmay which had been tipped as a horse to follow in plenty of season previews.
The betting seemed to back up the confidence. He was popular with punters on course, with bets of £2182 - £3000, £800 - £1100 and £400 - £600 noted down in the betting ring...
