Love Envoi is firmly on course to make it two from two at the Cheltenham Festival in March. Trained by Harry Fry and owned by Noel Fehily Racing, Love Envoi warmed up for a tilt at the Festival’s Mares’ Hurdle with a 13-length saunter in the Mare’s Hurdle at Sandown earlier this month.
The now 7yo went into last season’s meeting unbeaten and continued that record by taking the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle under Johnny Burke. The victory was met with raucous celebrations in the winner’s enclosure, as the mare’s eclectic mix of owners struggled to contain themselves after such an amazing victory.

Owning Shares in a Horse
Love Envoi had thrust the former jockey’s Noel Fehily Racing firmly into the spotlight. Owning a racehorse is not just for the rich and famous, any fan of racing now has a chance to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the industry’s biggest names. The ease with which to get into racehorse ownership has been made possible by horse racing share companies, where existing or potential fans can experience seeing their horse compete on the track. These companies provide the opportunity to attend races and visit the horses in training as part of the overall package, as well as other features.
Love Envoi is one such horse giving her selection of owners the experience of competing at the highest level and she will be looking to cement her place at the top table at Cheltenham this year.
Love Envoi’s Chances
Love Envoi has proven herself to be a mare of top-level ability since joining Harry Fry, only tasting defeat on one occasion when going down to Brandy Love in the Grade 1 Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
That had been at the end of a long season for the daughter of Westerner and she has returned to action this term with a pair of wins that should have her fit and ready for a return to the Cotswolds come Festival time.
This year will see her take on the best of the best in the Mares’ Hurdle, where she will once again take on Brandy Love, as well as the current ante-post favourite, Maries Rock, who will be looking to defend her crown in the Grade 1 contest.
There is also the outside chance that Love Envoi could bump into star mares Honeysuckle and Epatante if that pair were to swerve the Champion Hurdle, a race for which Love Envoi has an entry of her own.
Tahmuras
Love Envoi is not the only horse that Noel Fehily Racing will be sending to Cheltenham with high hopes. Unbeaten over hurdles, the very talented Tahmuras is set to take his place in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
Tahmuras has been described by Fehily as a horse that is only going to get better and was a hugely impressive winner of the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown in early January – his first foray into Grade 1 company. The Irish contingent has had a monopoly over the Supreme in recent years, but if Tahmuras is a horse on the improve, he should give them plenty to think about.
If the Paul Nicholls trained 6yo was to cross the line in front, then Cheltenham better get ready for another big celebration in the winner’s enclosure.
