An exciting young novice did the business for this column yesterday and I’m hopeful a similar type can do the same today. GITCHE GUMEE made a lasting impression on me at Kempton last year when winning on debut albeit showing signs of greenness. He has since been snapped up by JP McManus and rates one of Alan King‘s top novice hurdle prospects this year. I expect him to again show a bit of inexperience but his turn of foot looks a more than useful tool and I’m more than hopeful he can make a winning hurdling debut today.
