It was hard not to spot COUNT D’ORSAY staying on last week from an unpromising position at Chester. He has been priced up accordingly for the 1.40 at York today but at just over 5/1 he still rates a safe each way bet. The little bit of juice in the ground will be appreciated and he certainly looks a winner in waiting, he might just need a little bit of luck in such a big field.
The 10/1 that was available on FRANKENSTELLA on first show has long gone and is currently 4/1 best price with most firms 10/3 and shorter. John Quinn’s progressive mare came on leaps and bounds last year and notched a CD victory late in the season. That win impressed me and her low key return at Newcastle was undoubtedly a prep run for this assignment. I think she could take the world of beating today.
York 1.40 – Count D’orsay
York 4.50 – Frankenstella
