The 2.45 is a really interesting race and I’ve spent a lot of time looking at it. The majority of the market principles do take my fancy so I’ve probably ended up picking the wrong one but ARMY OF INDIA looked all pace the last day and the drop back to 5f around here should really see him in a good light. Franny Norton, ‘Mr Chester‘, will be keen to break well from stall 6 and if he can get anywhere near the front end I fancy him to get away from the field. Harmony Lil is dropping back to 5f and has questions to answer whilst I thought Showalong was flattered by his 4th on his return due to his track position. First Company is a really interesting one but it’s a big ask to shoulder a big weight on his return and the selection looks slightly better weighted at the moment.
The 4.15 maiden is always an interesting race and I think Richard Hannon‘s FASCINATING SHADOW is one who has been overlooked. Being by Fascinating Rock he should relish the softer underfoot conditions and take a big step forward from his Windsor debut run. I think that race at Windsor will work out well but Hannon always leaves a bit on his horses first time out so I am expecting an improved showing and it’s worth remembering this horse cost £100k. Hannon is a shrewd man and doesn’t waste money so if he splashes the cash it’s normally worth taking note.
