Poet‘s Word ridden by James Doyle wins the Prince of Wales‘s Stakes

POET’S WORD is top of the speed figures list for the past few weeks thanks to his battling win in the King George VI ahead of stablemate CRYSTAL OCEAN, who is just one point behind in the ratings.
The award of 121 and 120 puts the performance just behind Alpha Centauri of the best of the summer so far on these shores. Poet’s Word should have another date at Ascot in the Champion Stakes, or the Irish equivalent.
