In the four runnings of Irish Champions Weekend to date, Aidan O’Brien has sent out 14 winners; three in the initial meeting back in 2014, four, two and five respectively since. One wonders if expectations may be a little lower this time as the stable haven’t been firing at their usual rate. O’Brien commented at the start of August that some of his horses had been unwell and that it would take six to eight weeks for things to return to normal.
