The Grand National meeting was a relative non-event for Irish trained horses in 2017; there were runnerup finishes for Sub Lieutenant (Melling Chase), Katnap (Topham Chase), Rightdownthemiddle (Betway Handicap Chase) and Supasundae (Aintree Hurdle) but no winners from a total of 39 runners.
