Shared Equity could step up in class after an impressive win in the Coral Sprint Trophy at York.
The Jedd O’Keeffe-trained four-year-old beat Go Far by three lengths at York and after an impressive season in general, the trainer is now looking at bigger targets.
“I’ve had a look in the book and there are two possible options for him, but it depends on what the handicapper does,” O’Keeffe is quoted as saying by Sporting Life.
“Both of them are at Doncaster‘s final meeting. There’s the Listed Wentworth Stakes, which I think he deserves an entry in, or a handicap over seven furlongs.
“Going into the York race his mark didn’t concern me because while some people felt he was in the handicapper’s grip, I felt things just hadn’t quite dropped right for him.
“He’d either been drawn on the wrong side or something and minor issues had prevented him winning.
“We can campaign him differently now. I always felt he needed holding up but he proved he didn’t on Saturday and he seems to have relaxed.
“In the past I felt Listed races might not be run to suit him but we can let him roll now.”
