William Haggas doubled up for the second day in a row at the Ebor as Tasleet and Besharah won big prizes at York.

Haggas won Group races with Recorder and Storm The Stars on the opening day of the meeting and saw Besharah confirm herself as one of the best juvenile fillies around with an impressive success in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes.


Besharah had been narrowly denied at this level at Newmarket’s Festival, but gained Group 3 compensation at last time and she carried on her improvement with a decisive success over six furlongs.

Mark Johnston’s once-raced Lumiere was sent off favourite and set the pace, along with Continental Lady, as Besharah and Easton Angel raced keenly.
