Minding to miss summer action

Trainer Aidan O'Brien has confirmed Minding will miss the summer action after suffering a setback.

Minding has been in sensational form over the past year and she has picked up victories from eight of her last 10 races, which included the Qipco 1,000 Guineas, the Investec , the Pretty Polly Stakes, the Nassau Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

The four-year-old was the huge favourite to add the Tattersalls to her collection at the on Sunday, in what would have been an eighth success, but the bay filly has been ruled out.

O'Brien has confirmed Minding's absence from the race in Ireland this weekend whilst a return to action is not expected until Autumn, ruling out several other high-profile meetings this summer.

“Unfortunately, Minding has had a setback and won't be running in the Tattersalls Gold Cup,” he told the Post. “She will also miss and won't be running again for a few months. We're now looking at an autumn campaign for her.”
