Del Mar outing on Arrogate agenda

are believed to be keen on bringing Arrogate back at the Pacific on August 19.

The four-year-old, who is officially rated as the best horse in the world, is currently on a break after winning last month's Dubai World Cup and trainer Bob Baffert has started to assess where best to reintroduce him.

August's thoroughbred race at Del Mar has been won on four previous occasions by Baffert and appears a sensible option to ease him back in.

Teddy Grimpthorpe, who is the manager for owner Abdullah, says the camp are keen to give him a good rest following his recent exploits, before more than likely bringing him back in California.

He said: “The initial thing is to probably give him a break, then think about something like the Pacific Classic at Del Mar as that is where the Breeders' Cup is this year, and take it from there.

“That's in August and whether we go before it is hard to tell at this stage. He won't work for at least a month. The horse will tell Bob when he is ready. The main aim is the Breeders' Cup Classic again.

“He is a big, scopey horse. I think he's still at a place where he can maintain a pretty good standard.”
