On The Fringe tipped to rediscover Aintree magic

Enda Bolger is hopeful a return to will see On The Fringe get back to winning ways after his loss at .

The 12-year-old was looking to complete a hat-trick of victories in the Foxhunter Chase but could only manage fourth as Pacha Du Polder snatched victory.

Bolger says he came through the outing at Cheltenham unscathed and is planning to send him to Aintree for the Randox Health Foxhunters' Chase, a race he has won for the past two years.

Bolger admits he had been disappointed by his run at Prestbury Park but expects to see him back on form on Merseyside, believing Aintree brings the best out of him.

“He came back safe and sound which is the main thing, maybe the ground was a little quick for him at Cheltenham,” he told Sky Sports.

“By the time of the race it had even quickened up from when I walked it in the morning, but we're only looking forwards now, not back.

“He does love Aintree, he seems to come alive over those fences so hopefully that is in our favour.

“He had a lot of ground to make up at Cheltenham and just stayed on one-paced, but at Aintree he seems to be able to go with them early even though it's a shorter trip.”
