Altior will not race in Saturday's rescheduled Clarence House Chase at Cheltenham, Nicky Henderson has confirmed.
The Grade One event was due to be held at Ascot last Saturday, but a frozen pitch resulted in it being called off and it has subsequently been moved to the Cheltenham card for this coming weekend.
Altior was in the original entries, but then not declared for the initial race and Henderson has now revealed that the plan with the unbeaten novice is to pitch him into the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury next month.
He tweeted: “Altior will not be entered in the Clarence House on Saturday. He's not ready and hasn't been prepared for it. Game Spirit still the plan.”
