Walsh unsure of National mount

says he is yet to decide who his ride will be for the Grand at on April 9.

The 36-year-old heads into the coveted meeting on the back of a superb this month, having ended the event as the leading jockey for the fifth time in six years.

Walsh, who won the National in 2000 with Papillon and in 2005 with Hedgehunter, is still mulling over which horse he will partner as he aims for a third success.

The County Kildare-born star has five potential Willie -trained rides as things stand but a couple of those options could be taken up by other jockeys.

“We have five in it. Sir Des Champs is Gigginstown's so I don't know what Bryan (Cooper, their retained rider) is doing,” Walsh told At The Races. “We've Ballycasey, Turban, and On His Own. I'd imagine Patrick (Mullins) will ride On His Own.

“They are five long-shots and any of them, on their best day, could run a big race, but whether their best days are behind them or not now is questionable.”
